I've been a customer at Erik's since 2008. Purchased my first two bikes there and have had them both serviced at Erik's. I've always been happy with the service I've received. Recently I ran into an issue with my road bike that Specialized wouldn't resolve. Vince, the manager at Erik's, and Hayden in the repair department, bent over backward to make things right. They turned a frustrating situation into a really positive experience. I highly recommend this shop!

Recently was sent to the Burnsville location to have some warranty work done on my Specialized Rockhopper. They charged me an additional $50 because I had not purchased my bike at their store. I was happy to pay for their labor, but they did a poor job of explaining what my $50 charge was for, other than an email to Specialized. I would strongly recommend anyone to take their business else where.

Look up racket or racketeering and you will find the Eriks Bike Shop service counter. I took my scott in twice and never will again. So dishonest, take advantage of the common unsuspecting customer.

Experience 1. Took my bike in to have a brand new fork put on, guy puts it up on the stand to see how he can upcharge me. He spins the backwheel and immediately told me it was out of true. Little did he know it was a brand new wheel set. I told him he was lying, that it was a brand new wheel and to just do the fork. He nervously backpedaled, spun it again and still sheepishly said it looked just a little out of true.

Erik's in Burnsville was OUTSTANDING! We brought in 2 bikes that had been in our garage for two years, unused. I assumed they'd both need a lot of work to be usable. I know nothing about bikes except how to ride one. These folks were friendly and incredibly helpful. And honest! The service guy could've told me the bikes needed "a makeover " and charged me $$$. Instead, he said the bikes were in good shape and needed minor work. He did the work on the spot in 15 minutes...no charge. Wow, blown away! And our neighborhood bike shop with the stuck-up attitude lost customers today. Eriks is our new bike shop!

I went in to buy a bike on a Saturday when the store was extremely busy. I had done no research and didn't know what I wanted at all. Luke helped me out and was patient with me and explained to me in depth the different styles and price points and helped me make the best decision for my situation. He was extremely helpful and I never once felt he was trying to oversell me. I am very happy with my bike and would recommend Erik's and Luke at the Burnsville store if you want an honest and knowledgeable recommendation.

Experience 2. Im in line behind some 50 somethings who can probably only put air in the tires of their $300 sidewalk ridin bikes. This f'ing young kid sold them on EVERYTHING. "Oh your cables are a little rusty, we should replace them for smoother shifting". "your brake pads should get replaced too, they are wearing down" they had like 80% life on them. He tried talking them into a new rear derailleur, which SHOULD NEVER NEED REPLACING ON THAT BIKE! He didnt even give them a reason why! I dont think he was successful on the derailleur because he was already hundreds of dollars into this service bill on bikes that likely cost about as much. I still wish I interrupted. Then he got to me. I just wanted my wolftooth 42t on with goat link put on, mostly in case there were b screw adjustments Amongst other things, He priced out the goat link as a derailleur install which is WAY more conmplicated. The whole quote was like $70 which was nuts. Went home and did it myself in 10 minutes. Never going back, most dishonest place ever.
